Teesside Autodrome Karting
Home » Teesside Autodrome Karting
Thanks to the generosity of the team at Teesside Autodrome, the Speed of Sight team are able to provide our life changing driving experiences at their race track in Middlesbrough. We firmly believe that a disability never means an inability and our access to the Teesside Autodrome Circuit allows us to give blind and disabled people who may never hold a full licence the chance to experience the thrill of driving – for real.
The Teesside Autodrome is in full operation seven days a week, but it’s the karting experiences that take centre stage Wednesday to Sunday! On a typical weekend, the track will host around 15 Iron Man Races with around 15-35 racers per event – that’s 1,200 drivers to accommodate per month. In fact, the statistics don’t end there as Teesside Karting successfully holds 2,400 minutes worth of endurance races, hands out over 60 trophies and serves 200 early-bird breakfasts over the course of a busy month. It’s safe to say that happy racers are of the utmost importance at Teesside!

- Arrive and Drive Karting
As the perfect way for beginners to experience the thrill of their first karting experience, Arrive and Drive is the easiest way to make the most of the fun. Similarly, there’s nothing stopping seasoned drivers from partaking in a quick blast around the circuit too. Teesside also offers ‘adults only’, ‘kids only’ and ‘family sessions’ every week so there’s plenty of ways to get your karting fix! There are karts available for ages 8+ and all Arrive and Drive sessions should be booked in advance. Each event begins with an induction that covers etiquette, the basics of racing lines and how the karts operate.
- The Iron Man Challenge
Put your racing skills to the test with the Iron Man Challenge. As the best way to experience the full thrill of endurance racing, this activity includes three formats of the Iron Man race that last for 40-90 minutes, plus practice time. To race individually, you can partake in a preplanned Saturday or Sunday race or groups can organise their own race, such as the Iron Man Classic 20/40 endurance race at £60pp. With a maximum number of 35 drivers, each Iron Man race is open to smaller groups which allows for an exciting and thrilling experience for all.
- Owner/Driver Sprint
Attracting around 90 racers per event, Teesside’s Owner/Driver Sprint is always a roaring success! Drivers compete in classes such as Bambino Comer C50, Cadet Honda 200, Honda 160, Junior and Senior Pro-Kart Honda Pro Extreme 200 and Junior, Mini and Senior Rotax. Members can obtain entry to the event for £55pp, however non-member can still get their hands on a place at the starting line for £60pp. Transponder hire is also available for £10 and participants can enter online with ease.
- Children’s Parties
If you’re looking to give your child a birthday party they’ll never forget, there’s no better place to be than Teesside’s outdoor racing circuit! With track time and cake on offer, this activity is open to drivers aged 8-15 years old and offers a secure racing environment. Safety is of the utmost importance and professionals will be on hand at all times to offer help and instruction. Plus, parents are more than welcome to stick around and watch the fun in our purpose-built shelter or enjoy light refreshments in the on-site cafe.
Go Karting
Managed by the current owners since 1998, Teesside is proud to be the world’s longest race kart circuit in the world! Formally known as Langburgh Circuit, Teesside has been transformed into a multipurpose venue that is able to accommodate bikes, karts and cars. All of the Go Karts have been hand-built for optimum quality and reach up to 60mph on the straights of the circuit in order to give racers a full throttle experience. As the home of the British 24-hour kart race and Pro-Kart, Teesside is in a unique position to provide thrilling karting experiences at the highest level to each and every racer.
