What is this scheme? Fundraising that doesn’t cost the donor anything – surely this cannot be right. Not believing it I decided to try the scheme out, signed Speed of Sight up and then registered myself personally. The idea is that when you purchase something from one of the companies, the company gives a small donation. Sounded straightforward. It wasn’t long before I had the chance to try it out as I needed to buy a birthday present from Argos. Logged into Give as you Live, clicked on Argos and made my purchase choosing click and collect which is what I usually do. So simple and later I received an email informing me how much I had raised and it had not cost me a penny! Many companies, supermarkets, DIY stores, travel sites, switch sites for utilities/insurance and eating places are part of the scheme.
To register click on the logo above or go to https://www.giveasyoulive.com/ and put Speed of Sight in the charity box. Next time you go to the site it saves the information so all you need to do is go to the company you wish to buy from. It’s a win win. A simple way to raise funds that can help give people with disabilities self-confidence building, fun-filled, liberating driving experiences that doesn’t cost you the customer anything.
