One of the great things about our Speed of Sight events is that we get to meet so many amazing people who overcome challenges due to disabilities on a day to day basis. Through the course of our work we also meet some fantastic business people and entrepreneurs who generously choose to support our charity in many different ways. It is therefore interesting to read about The Stelios awards which recognise the achievements of entrepreneurs who also have a disability and have set up their own business or social enterprise.
Speed of Sight just love to focus on achievements and what people CAN do. Let’s celebrate achievements and advertise the fact that although people may have a disability they still have skills and gifts. For those who have the gift of entrepreneurship and have successfully managed to set up a company or social enterprise why not apply to the Leonard Cheshire organisation to be considered for a Stelios Award. You could be awarded up to £30,000 to help your business.
Applications are now open and close on 10th September at 5pm. Check out the eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions https://www.leonardcheshire.org/what-we-can-do-you/working/employment-support-and-internships/awards-disabled-entrepreneurs
